Guilt is ...This is fascinating and troubling story. Guilt is a topic I find very difficult and murky. It seems to tarnish the innocent; yet evaporate off the truly guilty. I know it myself, for the things I should feel guilty for yet feel nothing, and alternately for the extreme guilt I feel over trifles that I would best forget. On this subject I recommend 'Half a life' by Darin Strauss; and the work of Bernhand Schlink (who is himself a lawyer).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4151524728306248440.post-69482065994744632832012-08-20T17:37:16.932+10:002012-08-20T17:37:16.932+10:00For all of you out there who are against the dimin...For all of you out there who are against the diminution of the right to silence there is an online petition:

http://www.communityrun.org/petitions/save-the-right-to-silence

Sign up and send it on to your people. One wrong is as unforgivable as the other and neither makes a right. Only a well balanced 'conscience' knows the difference between right and wrong. Drugs and alcohol effect the conscience mind no matter which way you look at it. Arrogance takes over the role of knowledge. I am above the law principle; in response- you are until you get caught or if you should kill an innocent person whilst drunk or drugged behind the wheel.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4151524728306248440.post-1094333585569444032012-04-30T09:59:18.035+10:002012-04-30T09:59:18.035+10:00Gordon Wood shows his true, unguarded face on his ...Gordon Wood shows his true, unguarded face on his first 60 Minute interview - cold, calculating, coached in what to say. No feelings revealed other than for himself, and states, unbelievably, that Caroline's "spirit" "led me to the Gap" after her death and that is how he knew where she was! He then has a second go on 60 Minutes and cries and acts very well, and everyone says "Oh, well, then, he has to be innocent". I mean, are we all going to be that stupid and so easily duped? This case demands a re-trial with a panel of Judges, as there is obviously something wrong with the one who let Wood go free.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4151524728306248440.post-35378519213168422972012-04-27T01:59:49.815+10:002012-04-27T01:59:49.815+10:00A law-and-order auction for young offenders is an ...A law-and-order auction for young offenders is an very good step taken by the government .criminal law sydneyhttp://www.rsacrime.com.au/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4151524728306248440.post-18836317492030045162012-04-22T01:30:15.782+10:002012-04-22T01:30:15.782+10:00I don’t even know the way I finished up right here...I don’t even know the way I finished up right here, however I assumed this publish was great. Self determination, at the end of the day, is our sole right (and jurisprudence) to declare our authentic selves to ourselves, in the first instance, and then to others. If the recommendations within the report include processes that allow for this to occur then good. But to be herded into the constitution as if we are a homogenous “cultural enclave” without a free, prior and informed consent is fraught with problems. We need to have our own first nation’s plebiscite. I believe this would be invaluable to our wellbeing and not solely dependent on the legal and political results (polarities) of a national referendum.Capebamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15888419396035435060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4151524728306248440.post-48359627576639021342011-12-23T18:25:23.649+11:002011-12-23T18:25:23.649+11:00It's worth noting that by increasing the bed n...It's worth noting that by increasing the bed numbers in prisons instead of building new ones what results is overcrowding. In fact, many graffiti writers state that graffiti has stopped them from being involved in a range of criminal activities such as car theft, burglary etc, because it provided them with a skill to develop, a desire to make art, a culture to participate in, and so on. I have always been horrified at the lack of support for state wards, too, kids who have often been the victims of horrible abuse. Many of them go from refuge to refuge and end up in the criminal justice system.
And the perception that once someone turns 18 they are automatically an adult is deeply flawed.
